The team
Barnaby Brown
As a singing piper, composer and archaeomusicologist, Barnaby fosters a higher quality of connection with others across place and time. He composes pipe-led choral dances, breathing life into Ancient Greek literature, and propels forward our understanding of ancient musical evidence through practical experiment.
Stef Conner
Stef has carved a niche for herself in the misty borderlands between the contemporary classical, Early, and folk music worlds, combining the intense emotional sincerity of folksong with jazz-meets-classical technique, and an approach to melodic structure derived the study of ancient music and poetry.
Marco Sciascia
Marco is a musical instrument maker specialised in studying remains of ancient instruments, then developing playable reconstructions that satisfy academics and performers, respecting evidence of all kinds.

Since 2023, we have been training the staff of the ΜΟΥΣEIΟΝ in Matera, Italy. Together we are creating immersive ancient Greek experiences for overnight guests: subterranean rituals that respect archaeological evidence and honour the story of Demeter and Persephone (a full-body digital detox).
