February 16–20. Ancient Music-Making Course 4: “Discover the Ancient Greek Harp”, with Bill Taylor (historical harp techniques), Nancy Thym (voice and self-accompaniment on historical harps), Christos Terzis (ancient Greek music and language), Maria Stamatopoulou (archaeology) and Barnaby Brown (aulos-led choral dancing). Open to anyone interested in performing ancient Greek music on small harps, aulos or lyre, immersed in ancient evidence. Instrumental parts will be created for the strophic song-dances developed on previous Moyseion courses: Alcman’s Partheneion, Sappho’s Call to Aphrodite, and three polymetric odes by Pindar (Pythian 12, Olympian 2, and Paean 9).
