March 16–20. Ancient Music-Making Course 5: “Discover the Classical Aulos”, with Lukas De Clerck, Melinda Maxwell, Kamila Wysłucha, and Barnaby Brown. This course is preceded by a Research Retreat in which the tutors will be joined by Stefan Hagel, and Pino Basile. The retreat consists of rehearsals developing new ensemble repertoire, leading to performances on Sunday 15 and Monday 16 March.  During the course, participants will make and learn to play an aulos based on originals from the 6th century BCE. The course is open to anyone interested in performing ancient Greek music on aulos, lyre or harp, immersed in ancient evidence. Full Details
